The importance of "Call to Action" buttons PDF Print E-mail

I was quite surprised, while testing the conversion rate of a sales page, with the jump in conversion percentage by simply changing the "Call to Action" button graphic.

One simple image change doubled the sales for that page, from 1% to 2%. After this, i always test extensively various "Buy Now", "Order Now", "Add to Cart" buttons as they have a heavy weight in sales page conversion rate.

You "Call to Action" buttons must be medium size relative to page width. Small buttons look cheap and obscure. If you make them to big you will look desperate and un-professional. I think around 30%-40% of the page width is ok.

Colors on "Call to Action" buttons must fit with your overall page color theme, not in contrast with the main colors. I found that best selling buttons have a background color close to the background color of the page.

Credit card logos on your "Call to Action" buttons are a must. The buyer must know in 1 second that he has multiple payment choices.

Personally i think that "Add to Cart" buttons are better than "Buy Now" buttons. "Order Now" buttons are in between this two.

And one final piece of advice : search and test many "Call to Action" buttons because one simple image can make 2x more sales for you.
