A Facebook Traffic Trick PDF Print E-mail
Internet Marketing - Social Networks
Tuesday, 11 May 2010 10:05

It may take a bit of time before you build your Facebook friendbase to a level strong enough to facilitate a really big viral traffic push. While you work towards this aim, you can utilize a method
not many Facebook users would think of, even though it's there for all to see. When I was younger my family moved around a lot. As a result of this constant moving I had to frequently change schools.

Whenever I changed schools I was faced with the same problem – making new friends and fitting in.

After a while I realized something. I could go from one person to the next, introducing myself and repeating the same story over and over again until I met everyone OR I could find the most popular group of people, get to know them and the rest will take care of itself.

Sometimes it worked, other times the popular group was harder to reach, but overall it saved me from a lot of repetitive talking and general time wasting.

It's the same with Facebook and any other Social Networking website. You can kick-start your friend-base building campaign by “friending” some popular users and in turn reaching their friend base.

Because they are popular, their friend network is huge and as such, provides you with a fantastic opportunity to really make a splash on Facebook.

In the money-making/blogging niche, a lot of people friend Darren Rowse, John Chow, Shoemoney and other power bloggers but there is no reason this cannot apply to other niches too.

Additionally, if you want to leverage the power of Facebook but do not have the time to spend on building a friend base, there is one more thing you can do. You can setup a basic profile with all the bells and whistles (to appear believable), make a few updates to show that you are active, then browse around Facebook and find a bunch of ACTIVE users with large friend bases and friend them. Once friended back by a couple, you can tentatively approach them with the aim to purchase an
advertising plug.

You will find that a lot of people will take as low as $50 via Paypal to give your blog or product a plug on their profile or page as long as it caters for their target audience. If their friend base is large enough, the viral traffic effect will be almost instant as your link goes from the original poster to all their
friends, and their friends pass it on to their friends and so on.
