Directory submission and directory back links are the oldest methods of getting back links to your website. Today we have many link building methods but directory submission is still one of them. However, there is a great risk wasting your time submitting to dead directories or having your submission rejected = wasted time = wasted money.

Always pick a deep category, directory owners freak out when you submit to their tier 1 level categories (usually , not always).

Don't keyword stuff your title. Rotate your titles, using more key phrases but around 40% of the submissions must be made with your main keywords in the title.

Description rotation is not so important but if you use a software that can rotate than it's even better.

Use a valid email, preferably like directorysubmission at yoursite.com, check that email, now days around 25% of the web directories require email activation. Make your description around 150 chars long. Few web directories require bigger descriptions so have a extra phrase handy to go over 250 chars.

Submit your top url (domain), most of the internet directories don't accept deep links.

Always submit with http:// in front, some directories have troubles dealing with url's that start without http://.

Method 2 - Semi Automatic Directory Submission by yourself

If you already have an income of over 2-3$ per hour manual directory submission is like wasting your time for 0.5$ per hour. It's time to start using some cheap programs to speed up your submission process.
